What it is for #
Overleaf UniPi allows you to work online and collaboratively on the drafting of scientific documents in LaTeX.
Faculty, researchers, and other authorized personnel at the University of Pisa can also involve external co-authors and collaborators in their projects. To allow them to access the platform, it is necessary to create a guest account through the Identity portal and assign the Overleaf resource to it.
Who can create the account #
The creation of credentials for external users and the assignment of the related resources can only be carried out by authorized personnel responsible for managing accounts on the Identity portal.
Required data #
Before starting the procedure, ask the external collaborator for the following information:
- first name;
- last name;
- tax code;
- personal email address;
- mobile number;
- date of birth;
- country of birth;
- region of birth;
- province of birth;
- municipality of birth.
Creating the collaborator’s account #
- Access the Identity portal with your UniPi credentials or via SPID/CIE.
- Start the procedure for creating a new account.
- Enter the external collaborator’s details.
- Complete the creation of the account.
During this phase, it is preferable to not assign the Overleaf resource yet.
Account activation #
After the account is created, the collaborator will automatically receive a communication from the University of Pisa.
The collaborator must follow the instructions received to:
- complete the account activation;
- choose a password;
- inform the UniPi referent that the activation has been completed.
Assign the Overleaf resource #
After receiving confirmation of activation:
- log back into the Identity portal;
- search for the collaborator’s account;
- open the section dedicated to resources or services;
- assign the Overleaf resource;
- save the changes.
Access Overleaf #
