Preliminary test of the correct activation of 2FA #
Before proceeding with setting up access to the Microsoft 365 ecosystem via two-factor authentication (2FA), it is advisable to verify that the second authentication factor has been configured correctly.
To perform the verification, follow the procedure below:
- Open an incognito or private browser window:
- Microsoft Edge: click on the ⋮ menu and select New InPrivate window
- Firefox: click on the ☰ menu and select New private window
- Chrome: click on the ⋮ menu and select New incognito window
- Access the portal https://myaccount.microsoft.com.
- In the Security Information section, click on Update your information.
If the configuration of the second factor is correct, you will be prompted to authenticate using the 2FA just activated upon logging in.
After activating the second factor of authentication, it is advisable to log in again to the email clients on all of your devices to ensure they function correctly.
Immediate activation of 2FA (strongly recommended choice) #
It is advisable to activate immediately – that is, before the deadline of December 1st – access via multi-factor authentication by filling out this form: https://su.unipi.it/reqMFA.
This choice increases the security of your Microsoft 365 account and helps to avoid service interruptions on December 1st, 2025, when the procedure will become mandatory.
