What is Eduroam? #
Eduroam is an international network that allows users from universities and research centers to securely connect to the local WiFi network when visiting institutions that participate in the service. To find out where Eduroam is available globally, visit the site Where can I eduroam?
In Italy, Eduroam is managed by GARR.
Eduroam at the University of Pisa #
The University of Pisa offers Eduroam connectivity. In every building covered by WiFi, there is an Eduroam access point, available for visitors using their home institution credentials, as well as for students, faculty, staff, and authorized guests using the University of Pisa credentials.

How to access the Eduroam network #
- Select the network – Select the Eduroam network on your device.
- Enter your credentials – Use your credentials in the format user@domain.
For example, a user from the University of Pisa with username a001234 should enter their credentials in this format: a001234@unipi.it.
If the user is from another institution, such as “kcl.ac.uk” or “sns.it”, they should enter the credentials in the corresponding format (username@kcl.ac.uk or username@sns.it). - Accept the certificate – Some devices may require you to accept the authenticity certificate issued by the University of Pisa to access Eduroam.
