MATLAB is a leading global software for numerical computation, simulation, and engineering design, widely used for:

Thanks to the Total Academic Headcount (TAH) agreement with MathWorks, the University of Pisa offers access to MATLAB®, Simulink, and 60 additional toolboxes for academic and non-commercial purposes.
Who can access the license?
- Faculty, TAB staff, researchers, and PhD students: use for teaching and research.
- Students: personal access for projects and studying, with installation on up to four personal devices.
Included Services
- Access to MATLAB Distributed Computing Server for computation on clusters and cloud.
- Online educational materials: exercises, webinars, and courses on MATLAB and Simulink available for free to staff and students of the University.
- Online courses included in the license, including:

How to obtain MATLAB
- Registration: Create an account on MathWorks using an email with the domain
@unipi.itor@studenti.unipi.it. - Activation: Use the activation key provided by the University to associate the license.
- Download and installation: Download the MATLAB software, Simulink, and the necessary toolboxes.
License Renewal and Support
- Automatic Renewal: you need to manually update the license from the menu “Help” > “Licensing” > “Update Current Licenses”.
- Support: for issues with activation, installation, or use of the license, contact your IT support center.
