In the first episode of the series The Design of Sound, created in collaboration with Exertis and COMM-TEC Italy, the focus is on the strategic role of audio in educational spaces.
Starring is the experience of the University of Pisa, where – as explained by Fabio Filippi, consultant for the Digital Infrastructure Management – the priority is to ensure the intelligibility of speech in every classroom, even in historic buildings with acoustic challenges. The goal is to ensure the same listening quality for all students, despite the variability of teachers and environments.
From a technological standpoint, Federico Carnevale (Bose Professional) highlights the importance of integrated, automated, and easy-to-manage systems: solutions capable of adapting in real-time, reducing microphone triggering issues and integrating discreetly into the spaces.
The focus is on the future, with Artificial Intelligence ready to introduce functions such as automatic soundcheck and dynamic sound distribution optimization, for an ever more inclusive experience even in hybrid teaching.
